I adopted a wonderful yellow lab only to find she has liver issues. Each morning she gobbles down her Denamarin which results in a peace of mind for me that I am doing my part in her health.

So glad I found this on amazon. I spent $90 at the vet's for the Denamarin large dog 35 count package. I did buy the smaller package first to make sure it really was the same medication. It is and I am so glad this is cheaper and twice as much. My dog has liver disease and will be on it for the rest of his days But this price on amazon is going to make it easier on me. I also recommend the Greenies pill pockets. I buy the chicken. Helps him get them down but there are 2 sizes of those-tablet and capsule. capsule ones are pretty big so i break them in 2 pieces and mush them around the pills works great-and i get twice as many uses out of them. The tablet ones are a little small for the large dog Denamarin.

      probiotic problem solver August 26, 2009

      I have 2 cats with chronic diarreah. After trips to the vet, antibiotics, and a change of diet, they were fine for a while, then the problem came back. The vet suggested a probiotic, and gave me Proviable-DC to try. It took longer for the diarreah to clear than expected, but they are now on maintance dose of Proviable every 2-3 days and all is well in the catbox world

      I take in cats in trouble when the winter months are coming on. Many feral cats are very nervous being indoors and this product helps they so as to not have dyahrea during their months indoors til spring returns. I love it cause the capsules are very easy to open and thus I can pour it on their food instead of trying to get it down their throat. Works great and easy to use

      My rescued foster puppy had horrible diarrhea from deworming and this product worked fantastic at restoring his intestinal health! My vet gave me a free sample to try that came with the paste and pills. The paste was easy to administer with this clever syringe. No worry of giving too much or too little as you can easily lock in the dose. Within 24 hours he had nice firm poops again. He is now on the capsules for 10 days and his poops are firm. YAY! Going to keep a bottle of the pills around the house and use it when those stools start looking too soft. In a multi-dog household it is a must have product!

          As dogs age, it is common for their joints to become less flexible which impacts their mobility and quality of life. You may have noticed that your dog has difficulty walking up stairs or jumping on the bed. While he used to be eager to play, now he is content to rest. Even at younger ages some dogs are subject to joint health concerns which affect flexibility and mobility. Recommendation as a Supplement: The Initial Administration Period is 6 Weeks. Most animals should respond within this period. Improvement on Cosequin can range from gradual to dramatic. If the improvement is gradual, it may go unnoticed by the owner. It is therefore important to keep the animal at the initial amount for at least 6 weeks before deciding to discontinue the use of Cosequin. If there is gradual improvement and Cosequin is discontinued, a regression of clinical status can occur. Directions: Initial Administration (6 Weeks) Dogs: 25-49 lb. - 2 capsules daily (1 in A.M./ 1 in P.M.), 50-100 lb. - 3 capsules daily (2 in A.M./ 1 in P.M.), Over 100 lb. - 4 capsules daily (2 in A.M./ 2 in P.M.) Cosequin DS double strength can be used on patients under 25 lb., however, 1/2 capsule increments must be used. For convenience, Cosequin regular strength should be used. Regular strength can also be used for maintenance of dogs weighing 25-49 lb. that maintain below one capsule daily of double strength.

          I have used this before and believe it does help with joint issues. I presently use it to help prevent, and slow down problems in 2 of my dogs; one who has hardware in his hip and pelvis from an accident as a puppy- he is now 6 years, and my 3 year old who I just found out has hip dysplasia, but shows no symptoms. Being able to purchase a large quantity has made my life easier. I have a good stock supply on hand and do not have to worry about running out.

Cosequin DS is the gold standard for combatting age-related mobility problems like arthritis in older large breed dogs. I was worried about affording it in the current economy when I did a price comparison.                   Our older Golden Retriever, Xander, had been having a lot of difficulty with his hip. He was becoming an extra "throw rug". We did not want to keep him on prescription pain meds, cause he was out of it constantly. I read the reviews for this product and was skeptical. However, after 3 weeks there has been such an improvement. No, he is not like a puppy again. However, he is playing with tennis balls again, chasing our 10 month old German Shephard around, and running up and down stairs with me (household chores) again! He is still having some issues of getting up from a laying position, but the improvement so far is remarkable. Take it from a major skeptic- this stuff is GOLDEN. You won't be disappointed. If you have a pet that you love and want to see them have relief - this is it!

                  A Miracle For My Newfoundland! June 18, 2009

                  Our 9 year old Newfoundland started having difficulty going up and down the stairs and would limp around after getting up from lying down on the floor. We took him to our vet and he prescribed Tramadol for his pain and gave us MSM powder to add to his food once a day. He did have some minimal improvement but it just wasn't what he deserved. I spoke with some friends of ours who have an older Newf also and found out that they had been dealing with the same problems with their dog's mobility. They shared some of this product that they had gotten from their vet with us to try. After only 3 days, our Newf was running around like he did when he was two years old! He no longer grunts or whines when he lays down or stands up and he races up and down the stairs. I have cut back on his Tramadol from 125mg per day to just 50 mg per day and I'm beginning to believe that we can probably stop it all together without any problem. I purchased the product through Amazon because my vet said that he didn't have the product for his patients because it was expensive compared to the MSM powder and that the product essentially did the same thing as MSM powder for a lot less money. I beg to differ, but I have seen such a remarkable difference with my dog's ability to get around that I'll pay the [...] extra bucks a month! My dog's happiness is worth 1,000 times that!

                  My vet recommended this product to help my 6 yr old large Lab heal from a ligament injury. We are holding off on the surgery to see if Conservative Management will help, so I am giving him a few supplements to aid in tissue-healing, muscle-building, etc. I had been giving him Glyco-Flex II up to this point, since he was about 3 years old, and the vet thinks that has certainly helped up to now, however we wanted something stronger. This seems to be the best product on the market right now. I've seen other products, like GlycoFlex III, with the new formulation, but since my vet recommended this, I'm using it. I also did some research on CCL injuries, and many folks reported they are using this product.

                      As dogs age, it is common for their joints to become less flexible which impacts their mobility and quality of life. You may have noticed that your dog has difficulty walking up stairs or jumping on the bed. While he used to be eager to play, now he is content to rest. Even at younger ages some dogs are subject to joint health concerns which affect flexibility and mobility. Recommendation as a Supplement: The Initial Administration Period is 6 Weeks. Most animals should respond within this period. Improvement on Cosequin can range from gradual to dramatic. If the improvement is gradual, it may go unnoticed by the owner. It is therefore important to keep the animal at the initial amount for at least 6 weeks before deciding to discontinue the use of Cosequin. If there is gradual improvement and Cosequin is discontinued, a regression of clinical status can occur. Directions: Under 10 lbs. - 1/2 to 1 capsule daily, 10-24 lbs: 2 capsules daily (1 in A.M./ 1 in P.M.), Maintenance Administration (After initial 6 week period), Cats and dogs under 10 lb. can often have their dosage reduced to 1/2 capsule daily or 1 capsule every other day. 10 to 24 lb. can often have their dosage reduced to 1 capsule daily.

                      I was skeptical about some of the comments of recovery I read before I gave this product to my Westie. Well, let me tell you my dog has registered a marked improvement! He was given an x-ray when he was reluctant to get up in the morning, walking slow and timidly even though he was only five years old. The x-ray indicated he had the beginnings of what could be arthritis.I followed the instructions to the letter and after six months he could actually jump up on the couch - something he could see his doggie daughter do but he could not. We were astonished with the results. He is on maintenance dose now and seems to continue to improve. This is a wonderful product and would highly recommend it.

                      Our 14 year old dachshund has joint problems, as well as other medical issues. He has taken Cosequin for 10 months. He has gone from stumbling and hardly able to walk at times to walking briskly and with purpose on his much loved daily walks since taking this product. We give it 2x daily as he did have some renewed stumbling after going to the maintenance dose of 1x daily. We are very pleased with what Cosequin has done for him.

                          This product made significant difference for my 6y old horse with complex coffin bone fracture and delayed healing, within a week. I am buying more to put my older 16y horse with arthritis on this supplement as well. I compared the concentration of active ingredients to other brands, it is the highest for cosequin (I was looking at chondroitin sulfate in particular, as it helps the bone, not only cartilage). Also, this price for 3 lb is better than other supplements I have seen.

                          My old grey mare ain't what she used to be, but with the help of this product she seems to still keep going. With age, arthritis, melanoma's and all, there doesn't seem to be a silver bullet pill to reverse the aging process. However, this product was introduced to my horse by her vet quite some time ago and has helped her mobility considerably. Every so often she will lay down with her legs in an up hill position and have difficulty in gaining her stance again. We find, if we just roll her over and lend some help, she's able to upright herself once more."It's hell to get old!" Happy trails!

                              Beneficial for FIV positive cat March 20, 2011

                              Several years ago a tiny starving cat too weak to walk to a food dish was discovered at our back door. Too kind-hearted to watch him starve we have been caring for him ever since. Two years ago it was discovered that he was FIV positive. Since then Nu-Pet Feline Granular powder containing fish protein etc...has been added to his food with good results, however 6 months ago my vet recommended changing to this, Welactin Feline Softgel Caps. In all honesty I continue to add about half of the Nu-Pet powder as I previously did, but 1 softgel cap of Welactin per day has also been added to his food and appears to be making a difference. The now adult cat recently battled a severe infection that we believe he recovered much faster from because of the Welactin. I am not a vet but have been through more infections than I care to count with this cat and did see a quicker recovery from a particularly bad infection. I also noticed, before the infection and before one jar of these softcaps had been entirely used that his eyes were brighter, fur softer and just plain nicer looking, and he seemed to feel better. I have no problem administering this oil by mixing it in with his canned food. I do continue using the very smelly Nu-Pet power for the scent he is used to, but I believe, due to the fact that the Welactin oil really does not have a strong scent, that he would gobble it down without the Nu-Pet powder. The softcaps are also easy to use. Just snip the narrow end off and squeeze the oil inside onto the food and mix. With canned food it mixes well. I have not tried it with dry food. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GIVE THE ENTIRE SOFTCAP TO YOUR CAT, JUST WHAT'S INSIDE! The capsule itself is not meant to be eaten, just the oil inside. Discard empty capsule. I would recommend this for any cat with a compromised immune system. You should have a pretty good idea of whether it is beneficial before the first jar is empty. For the cost it is certainly worth a try.

                              We have a few cats, two are pretty old and we could see them struggling to jump and walk, hardly any running. As other reviewers have stated when I was shopping, some have seen very quick results. I too notice that both older cats are jumping up on the counters again (oh well..) and seem to be moving more fluidly. Cats have very high pain thresholds but anything we can do to relieve their pain as they get older is worth it. Decent prices on this item too. We will be buying more in the future!

                              My oldest cat has dry skin/itching issues. Previously I gave her 3V Derm Caps which I cannot locate now---I'm not sure what happened with the availability of those. So in the meantime I switched over to giving her a Welactin capsule - these work just as good, maybe even better as the 3V caps I used to give her. She thinks it's a treat to get a little fish oil on her dry food; I especially feel good about this as dry cat food loses some of its nutrients during processing. Her fur was shiny before, but I think it's even glossier now - it's been about 2 weeks since I started her on the Welactin and I can already tell a difference in the condition of her fur and she's also scratching much less.I don't notice much fishy odor at all when I break open a capsule. Just make sure you twist or clip off the tip of the softgel capsule, this capsule is not intended to be swallowed.Nutramax Labs is a trustworthy manufacturer of pet products, I used their Cosequin product with my first cat for her joint issues and it worked fine, so I have the utmost trust in this product, too.
