Customer Reviews

I bought Crananidin for my older bulldog, because she suffers from reoccurring UTI's and seems to never get a break. I work for a veterinary hospital, and my doctor consulted an internist at the lab... who recommended this product. It's more expensive than the other cranberry supplements, but I'm desperate. My dog chews these right up, and they're packaged well, and arrive immediately, often in 2 days. If you're going to try cranberry for your dog, it may as well be recommended by a specialist.

I'm told that female dogs are more susceptible to urinary or bladder infections than male dogs. Unless the male dog has prostatitis or prostate cancer. A highly resistant bladder infection was the first sign of prostate cancer in my 12 year old dog.
The bladder infection was nasty in itself, and reoccurred, making for a long pitched battle with expensive antibiotics. Once the infection was shut down, and the diagnosis of prostate cancer was made, it seemed like the bladder infection was rather minor in perspective.
You can't really cure prostate cancer in dogs, my vet tells me. You treat them with cox inhibitors to slow the progression of the disease, and, if you're lucky, it goes into remission for a time.
What never stops is the threat of reoccurring bladder infection. Crananidin was recommended by my vet to prevent the reoccurring bladder infections, and I give my 60lb dog one tablet a day. It's been two months on Crananidin, and he's doing pretty well, with no recurrence yet (knock on wood). Seems to be doing what it's supposed to.
My only consternation is that Crananidin only comes in 21 pill bottles, and is fairly expensive at that. A larger size container, or a cheaper price (or both!) would make it a five star product.
