Denamarin is a liver support supplement for dogs and cats containing S-Adenosylmethionine (SAMe) and silybin. When liver function is compromised, the exact cause can often be difficult to determine. Administering SAMe, which is found in Denamarin, has been shown to markedly increase liver levels of glutathione, an important compound for liver health. The SAMe in Denamarin has also been shown to help protect liver cells from cell death and may help cell repair and regeneration. Denamarin also helps support your petÆs liver through the administration of silybin. Silybin is an active part of an extract from milk thistle, known as silymarin, and has been shown to support liver function by helping maintain a healthy oxidative balance. Our 11 year old Sophie dog started taking Denamarin approx. 3 months ago and it seems to be working. We had a follow-up visit and blood work at the Vet's which showed improvement in her liver enzymes. It's pretty expensive since we have to give her 3 tablets a day. But she's worth it and we'll keep her on it. Amazon seems to have the best prices - I did a lot of shopping around. The chewables are much easier to give her. She chews them right up - no problems. We had her on the caplets and she would spit them out no matter what we tried to disguise them in!

This seems to be a good product. However, I'm concerned because my veterinarian told me that there are some bogus medications that are being sold on the internet. She said that the packaging and everything is identical. So, I hope for my sake and my dog's sake, that this product is authenitc.
